Internet in Da Nang — stable fiber, better than Hanoi or Saigon
Da Nang’s internet is one of the reasons remote workers pick it over Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. Residential fiber (FTTH) is standard in newer buildings, average speeds land at 100 Mbps, and coworking spaces routinely deliver 250-500 Mbps symmetric. Reliability is solidly better than the bigger Vietnamese cities — fewer peak-hour slowdowns, less infrastructure congestion, and the typhoon outages in September-November are usually short (a few hours, not days).
For daily video calls, cloud workflows, and large file uploads, Da Nang’s fiber is more than enough. The only real risk is older An Thượng buildings still on aging DSL — always test before committing to a monthly lease.

Tips for reliable connectivity
Always have a backup. Get a local prepaid SIM with data. Viettel prepaid at Da Nang airport is 150,000-300,000 VND (6-12 USD) for 50-150 GB over 30 days — the cheapest reliable mobile data in Asia. Tether if your home connection drops during rainy season.
Check before you rent. Ask the landlord which provider is installed and run a speedtest from the unit before signing. A monthly lease with 20 Mbps DSL will frustrate you within a week. New builds in An Thượng, My An, and Son Tra almost always have FPT or Viettel fiber.

My Khe Beach — Beachfront condos are well-connected; older guesthouses can be slower. Verify with the owner before committing. Mobile 4G/5G is strong along Vo Nguyen Giap.
Hai Chau (Downtown) — VNPT and FPT both compete aggressively here. Business-grade plans available. Good fallback district if An Thượng feels too nomad-heavy.
