Small but focused — Dahab’s coworking scene
Dahab is a small town, so the coworking infrastructure is compact. Three to four dedicated spaces serve the growing remote-worker crowd, plus several cafes that tolerate all-day laptop sessions. The main draw is stability: coworking spaces invest in backup internet (often Starlink), generators for power cuts, and AC — three things that matter here far more than in European capitals. Day passes run USD 5-8, monthly memberships USD 80-150.

How to choose
For reliability: CoWorking Inn Dahab has the most consistent internet in town and backup power — the safest pick if you have frequent video calls. Monthly plans include off-peak access.
For community: The Alchemist Hub runs yoga, skill-shares, and nomad meetups. Smaller, more intimate — you’ll know everyone after a week.
For budget: El Co-working Space Dahab at USD 90/month is the cheapest dedicated workspace. Good fit if you mostly need a desk, AC, and steady-enough WiFi for Slack and async work.
For speed: All three spaces sit in the 35-50 Mbps band, which handles video calls fine but chokes on large uploads. For serious upload work, combine coworking WiFi with a Vodafone or Orange hotspot — see the internet guide.
Free and low-cost alternatives
Several cafes along Mashraba and Masbat accept all-day laptop sessions:
- Schoenemanns Cafe (Mashraba) — decent WiFi, outlets, homemade cakes
- Everyday Cafe (Masbat) — plenty of outlets, quiet mornings
- Ralph’s German Bakery (Mashraba) — strong coffee, limited outlets
Budget USD 2-4 per coffee. Order every 1-2 hours. See the full list in the cafes guide.
Practical tips
Power cuts happen. Dahab’s grid isn’t perfectly stable — outages of 30-60 minutes occur, especially in summer. Coworking spaces with generators are worth the premium over apartment WiFi.
Starlink is spreading. At least one coworking reports Starlink as a failover to regular ISP lines. Ask when signing up — this can mean the difference between a missed call and a completed one.
Bring a hotspot. Even inside coworkings, keep a mobile data SIM as a fallback. Vodafone Egypt and Orange both have solid 4G along the Dahab strip. Monthly data bundles cost USD 5-12.
