Best neighborhoods in Dahab for remote workers

Dahab is a small Sinai beach town, not a city — you can walk end-to-end in 40 minutes. Instead of distinct districts, it’s really five zones strung along the coast, each with a different vibe and price. Every part of town has beach access, and most remote workers mix living in one area with cafes and coworking in another. Diving and kitesurfing are within 10-15 minutes of anywhere.

Top areas

How to choose your area

Budget under USD 250/month: Assalah. Cheapest, most authentic, but expect a daily walk or cheap taxi to the main cafes and coworking. Mobile data will be your primary connection.

Diving focus: Masbat or Mashraba. Walking distance to Lighthouse and Eel Garden dive sites, plus the dive centers themselves. Most dive trips to the Blue Hole and Canyon pick up from Masbat.

Kitesurfing focus: Laguna. Only area where the wind and shallow lagoon conditions work for kites. You’ll commute to other zones for cafes.

Best all-rounder: Mashraba. Nomad-friendly apartment stock, mature cafe scene, CoWorking Inn nearby, quieter than Masbat but still walkable to all essentials.

Areas to skip or approach carefully

Bedouin camps south of Mashraba — cheap but very basic (no reliable WiFi, limited power). Fine for a weekend diving trip, not a workation base.

Isolated resort complexes — some mid-range resorts 10+ minutes out of town isolate you from the community. Unless Starlink is confirmed, internet is often worse than central spots.

Cross-check with the coworking and internet guides before signing a lease.
